Cheese Enchiladas!

Avery had her first taste at cheese enchiladas from our favorite place, Los Cucos in New Braunfels.  She absolutely loved them.  I could not believe that she ate almost the whole enchilada plus a few bites of rice and beans.  Her are a few pictures of our little model posing at the restaurant!

We finally met Baby Isaac!

It took us a while with our busy schedule but we finally made a trip to Brenham to meet Isaac Christian Matthies.  My best friend, Tracy and her husband Wyatt had a baby boy on July 20th.  I was dying that I could not be there to meet him the day he was born so you can imagine how excited I was to finally get to meet him, hold him and give him a little kiss.  He is the spitting image of his Daddy with a hint of his Mommy which equals...perfection!  We love you Baby Isaac and can't wait to see you again.

PS...for some reason there are only pictures of Zach holding Isaac...bummer!  I seem to not have a picture of Isaac with his Aunt Julie!  Oh and it was impossible to get Avery to sit still long enough to take a picture.  She was to busy chasing her boyfriend Tye around.

Look how cute he is...sleeping so peaceful

Ku & Ky....aka Luke & Kyle

Avery loves her cousins!  Mom and Dad brought the boys to our house one last time before their long haul to Colorado.  My nephews stayed with my parents for a few weeks to enjoy summer at Nana & Popo's house and the vacation had ended and it was time for them to drive them back home.  Avery sure does miss them.  She points to their pictures on the refrigerator and says...Ku, Ku, Ku otherwise known as Luke and Ky, Ky, Ky otherwise known as Kyle.  It is so cute!

Kyle & Avery...and little cowgirl!

Not sure if he is trying to kiss her or choke her....A little bit of both!

Aww...so cute!

Luke loves Avery....he wants a baby sister real bad!

Weekend in Port A!

Our good friend JR celebrated his 30th birthday in Port A and him and Meredith invited us to join them for the weekend.  We packed up the car on Friday after work and headed to the coast.  Friday night we meet the gang at Snoopy's for some good ole seafood.  Zach and I had always wanted to try Snoopy's since his college roommate worked there in the summers.  The fried fish was excellent and Avery loved her first taste of hush puppies.  On Saturday, the guys got up super early to go fishing, while the girls hung out at the condo, pool and beach.  The beach adventure lasted about 20 minutes since we saw 5 jellyfish swimming near the shoreline.  Later that evening we headed back to the beach for smores but Avery had a little bit too much fun in the sand and we had to cut out early to keep the sand from getting in her eyes...no smores for us, bummer!  On Sunday, we met our good friends Brian and Ashley for lunch in Corpus before we headed home.  We ended the weekend with yummy oysters, mimosas & bloody marys.  It was great to get away for the weekend and relax with good company.

Lollipop, Lollipop, oh lolli lolli pop!!!

We celebrated Avery's first birthday in Brenham on July 3rd. The party was originally going to be outside at Mom and Dad's house with lots of room for the kiddos to run around and the pool to occupy them. With hurricane Alex moving this way the party had to be moved to the camphouse...bummer but really turned out great with all of my decorations I had planned. The camphouse was instantly transformed into a candy shoppe!

For a couple of weeks prior to the party, Zach and I stayed up and handmade all of the centerpieces. I got the idea from a Brenham friend whos triplets are exactly a month older than Avery, thanks Adrienne! I was so happy when all of my ideas came to life and was exactly what I had envisioned.

The party was a big success! We had a great turn out, the food (made by my parents) was yummy, we had the cutest cake ever and we definitely had a happy WALKING girl! Yes, that is right Avery took several steps at her birthday party complete with an audience!
