Friends..BBQ..Beer..Birthday

Last night we celebrated JR's (Zach's BFF) 29th birthday at the Salt Lick. Zach and I had never been there so we were excited to finally get to try their BBQ and experience the atmosphere of the Salt Lick. Before arriving at the party...we went the wrong way and ended up on a dead end road in the middle of who knows where (thanks to google maps) and to top it off almost ran out of gas. Could you imagine running out of gas for the first time when you have a newborn in the car. I think we will definitely make sure we have a full tank of gas when we head out on a hour trip from now on. Well, needless to say our little princess was a big hit at the party. Everyone was so excited to finally meet her. She slept the majority of the evening but definitely got a lot of attention. Zach and I make a great team...we were both able to eat while feeding her. It just so happened that she was hungry at the exact time we got our food - how convenient..haha! Well, I accomplished holding a bottle and feeding myself at the same time and then Zach took her so I could eat. The BBQ was great but I would have to say that Zach and I loved the blackberry cobbler the best! Yummy! Make sure you order this next time you are at the salt lick. Well, we had a great time last night and even got to hear a mini concert from The Rankin Twins - love it!

Mommy Time

Well, it has already been 3 weeks since Avery was born and time seems to be flying by. I am already getting sad to think that in 7 more weeks, we will have to drop her off at daycare and I will be back at work. I try not to think about it because it makes me sad. In the meantime, I am enjoying every waking minute with Avery and loving every minute of it.

Love it!

Thank you Kristy for my necklace! I love it and have not taken it off since I got it.

Tummy Time with Daddy!

Avery loves being on her tummy. There is something about being able to fall right asleep on your Daddy's chest.

I heart Saturdays!

As all of you know Zach is the cook in the family and a darn good one at that! I usually help him out where he needs it but I am not one to cook up a meal without a recipe. This Saturday he whipped up a great little breakfast for us and it was super yummy.

Corn tortilla - fried
cream cheese
scrambled egg
bacon
cheese
dab of salsa

While sitting at the table enjoying our breakfast we decided to empty out our collection of wine corks we have been collecting over the last few years. Not sure what made us decide to do this but it was kind of fun seeing what wines we drink the most and counting how many bottles we have drank...114 was the total and that does not even include the screw top bottles and ones we just forgot to keep. Yes, the Inmans are your typical winos! We love our vino!

Avery just kicked back and slept while Zach and I enjoyed spending time together and watching her sleep.

Avery's First Dress & 2 Week Checkup

Avery before her 2 week doctor visit

Isn't she so cute!

The day Zach and I found out we were having a girl, I just had to go buy a dress. Well here it is! I can still remember that day very clearly and the excitement of seeing her for the first time and the emotions we felt when they told us it was a girl! Everyday with her is so exciting! We just love being parents.

Yesterday, Avery had her 2 week checkup. She is now 6lbs 9 ounces and 20 1/2 inches. She is growing so fast and doing great!

What a cute gift!

As most of you know Zach and I work for a well known family owned construction company - Zachry. Over the past couple of years the company was broken up into seperate trades and were made into 2 seperate companies. Zach works for Zachry Holdings, Inc. which specializes in Industrial work and I work for Zachry Construction Corporation which specializes in Buildings and Highways. Well, to get to the point, this week I received a FedEx package from my company. I thought before opening it that is must be something related to work. Well, caught me by surprise a creative onesie was enclosed for Avery. Zach and I thought it was neat that they had this made for us. What a thoughtful company we work for.

I love to Play....

We set up Avery's monkey mat (not sure if that is the name of it but it is what I call it) to play with on Sunday and she loved it. It is amazing how alert she is and she was even grabbing for the toys. Our little girl is already growing so fast. If only she could fit in more of her clothes because there are so many cute dresses and outfits that she will be adorable in but she is just too petite...she takes after her Mom - haha!

Let the spoiling begin...

Avery's grandparents love her so much! Over the past 13 days my parents and Zach's parents and grandparents have visited Avery. They all love to hold her and spoil her and I have a feeling she loved every minute of it as well.

Our First Family Outting

Zach and I decided to venture out on Saturday with Avery. I have been craving sushi for 9 months so now that I can finally have it Zach took me to lunch to fulfill my craving. It was so yummy and I even had a japanese beer to help it go down. Awww the things you miss when you are pregnant. Avery did so great at lunch she just slept right through the entire meal, snuggled in her carrier. Since she was still sleeping we decided to go shopping for a rug for our living room. It is quite different traveling and shopping with a little one. Carrier...check, stroller...check, diaper bag...check, oh and baby...check, check! Also, scheduling being home in time to feed Avery. Quite different from our unscheduled lives but we love every minute of it!!

Yeah for Babies!

Congratulations Mabry Family on your new addition. Garrett Lane Mabry was welcomed at 2:40pm today weighing 8lbs 1 ounce and 19 1/2 inches long! Zach and I can not wait to meet Avery's future husband!

We miss Daddy!

Zach went back to work today and we miss him already. It is so much better to have him home with us. Our little family just does not feel complete without him here. Avery and I are doing good. We woke up around 8:30 this morning and ate our breakfast and Avery has just been sleeping ever since. I should probably be sleeping as well but I enjoy just watching her sleep. My parents (Nana & Popo) are on their way to see us and spend the week. It will be good to have them here to help out and spoil our baby girl. We can not wait until 6 o'clock when Zach/Daddy arrives home! Until then....

She is here!! Avery Grace Inman was born Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 3:25pm. She weighed 6 lbs 2 ounces and was 18 inches long. Zach and I can not tell you how happy we are to be blessed with such a beautiful baby girl. She is just precious. We just love her and can not wait to introduce her to everyone. The pictures should tell it all!

4...3...2...1...The Countdown Begins!

I went to my weekly appointment yesterday to find out I was on my way to being dilated to 4 cm and 80% effaced. My doctor was very surprised that I had not felt any contractions or pressure being that far along. We discussed our options and decided to schedule an induction. Zach and I will be heading to the hospital at 6am on Tuesday, July 7th and the process will begin. So, unless our little princess decides to come into this world early we will definitely be holding her in our arms sometime on Tuesday. It is hard to believe we will be parents in less than 4 days, so stay tuned for upcoming announcements...and keep myself and baby Avery in your prayers over the next few days that we experience a healthy delivery!
